OAKLAND, CA (January 28, 2020)—Jack London Square and CUESA announced today that CUESA will no longer serve as the operator of Jack London Square Farmers Market effective Sunday, March 29, 2020. Jack London Square is currently searching for a new operator to take over the Farmers Market, effective Sunday, April 5. Many of the local Jack London Square Farmers Market vendors will remain present at Jack London Square, under the realm of the new operator or at other Jack London Square markets and events. Founded in 1989, the Jack London Square Farmers Market has deep roots in Oakland, offering local produce, food craft products, and breakfast and lunch options.

“We have been honored to serve our local farmers, crafters, chefs, and the Oakland community at Jack London Square Farmers Market for nearly four years,” said Brie Mazurek, Communications Director of CUESA. “We’ve been grateful to partner with Jack London Square, and our top priority is a smooth transition for everyone. Jack London Square and CUESA are working together to support our vendors in continuing on at Jack London Square or other markets, and we are committed to working with the future market operator to support this transition.”

Community members are encouraged to support local artisans and vendors by shopping local at Jack London Square’s open-air markets and events. These family-friendly outdoor markets, including the Farmers Market, feature local vendors selling fresh produce and delicious foods, artisan vendors offering unique clothing, jewelry, art, and more, as well as children’s activities, educational opportunities, and live entertainment. Jack London Square’s vibrant waterfront property is one of the top food destinations in the Bay Area, boasting a diverse culinary offering with a noteworthy lineup of renowned Chefs and both new and old favorite restaurants.
